Seletar Hill Restaurant

Posted on: November 15, 2008

When Sze Chuan food is being mention, I will think of Seletar Hill Restaurant. It’s been quite long since i last went for a meal at this place. So tonight i’m very glad to have dinner here =)  And it’s good that it’s very near my house.

I’m not sure if they have renovated but i thought the whole place seems to look brighter. By the way, i like the small cup that was used to put the chrysanthemum tea.

The Camphor Tea Smoked Duck ($39 for whole duck) is their signature dish here =)  I’m not good with description but personally i like the taste of this dish. My dad even commented that he prefer the duck dish over here compared to Dian Xiao Er

The bottom picture is Jumbo Prawn With Tang Hoon ($4.50 per piece & we had 10 prawns). Nice… Prawns are very fresh and i ♥ tang hoon =)

For the dishes in this picture are Sze Chuan Hot & Sour Soup ($18)Hotplate Venison ($23) , Pork With Minced Garlic ($15) , Claypot Sea Cucumber ($30) , Red Garoupa Fillet ($22)

We also had another 2 dishes – Ma Po Tofu ($12) & Dry Sauteed String Bean aka “Si Ji Dou” ($14)

For my standard i like all the dishes. I find it well prepared & some goes really well with rice.

For dessert i chose the D24 Durian Pudding ($1.90) for myself & it’s really good!! =)  Aaron had the “Or Nee” aka Yam Paste With Ginko Nuts ($2.90) & the rest had Chendol ($1.90)

Seems like the Chendol is kind of sweet, if not it taste pretty good too

I find it a good place to come for a meal but may be kind of expensive (depends on what you choose) despite not charging GST & service charge. For the 8 dishes + 1 soup , desserts , drinks , rice & towels = $261.40 (10 people)

But it’s still a place where i’ll be back cause the food is good and there’s lots of other dishes to try lah

If i’m not wrong, they also have Hor Fun & other typical “zhe char” dishes. There was quite a few customers who came to “tapao” back home to eat. I think can call in advance to order =) And business is pretty good for this restaurant.

By the way, parking may be a problem when there’s lots of cars so be patient when you are trying to find a parking lot.
