I think it was about 2 months ago when i saw Nakhon Kitchen being featured in 8 Days. I’m a big fan of thai food but didn’t really get a chance to go & try the food until recently =)

IMG_2717

I reached at 8+pm (weekday) & was 3rd in queue but the waiting time was ok. Business was good! Look @ the picture that i took – it was full house!

I guess if you want to skip the waiting time, try coming earlier at 6 – 6.30pm or 8.30pm onwards.

By the way, they don’t accept reservations at all.

IMG_2719

I like this tissue holder! Nice =)

IMG_2720

I tried the Clear Seafood Tom Yum Soup & i like the one @ Nakhon! It’s spicy enough & the seafood are fresh. Shiok!!

IMG_2721

Honey Chicken is yummy! The sweetness is just nice , chicken is tender & i like it that it comes in small pieces.

IMG_2724

Phad Thai – Nice too! And there was this chilli sauce which has this sour & slightly salty taste… Awesome! I kept putting it into my phad thai =)

Very appetizing!!

IMG_2726

Seafood Tang Hoon – I like tang hoon & this is nice too!

The whole meal cost $26 for 2 pax & there was no gst & service charge. I will go back to Nakhon Kitchen anytime when i got cravings for thai food =)

The location is rather convenient for me & i find the price reasonable & the food are generally good!

After dinner, i proceed on to Dessert Bowl to enjoy some desserts.

I ordered Milk Custard With Mixed Fruits & Durian Mousse With Black Glutinous Rice to try. Both are pretty good too!

Nice sweet way to end the night! =)

It’s another celebration for my brother’s birthday but this time with family =)

Just nice i saw this 1 for 1 promotion for UOB cards @ Kintamani Indonesian Restaurant. And the reviews on hungrygowhere.com were good so i thought worth trying!

IMG_2680

Part of the interior. As usual we reach early so it was still kind of empty. Not sure if it’s due to the 1 for 1 promotion but that night the restaurant was about 85% full. I wonder if there’s no promotion, how will the crowd be like.

But i must say i like the ambience. It’s nice!! =)

Now let me show you some of the buffet spread.

page 2

page 3

page 4

Overall the whole spread is decent even though it’s not a very wide spread. But if there’s no 1 for 1 promotion, i don’t think i’ll come cause rather expensive @ $39++ per pax for dinner buffet.

IMG_2698

This restaurant don’t give cake for birthday but instead it’s a coconut with sparkler! Interesting =)

I don’t know why but this year for my brother’s birthday, got quite unique things to replace the cake! Haha… But it’s not so bad after all!

Anyway Happy Birthday once again! Even though we didn’t get to celebrate before the actual birthday but luckily just in time for the chinese lunar calendar one =)

Recently i saw my cousin Xin Lian posting a YouTube video on her Facebook which was featuring Yiqi’s eco-store.

So i would like to share it with everyone @ my blog too!

Happy viewing & do show some support @ his eco-store ok =)

I haven’t seen Grace for quite some time & recently i’m glad we managed to arrange to have afternoon tea together @ Sheraton Towers =)

Currently there’s a 1 for 1 promotion with UOB/HSBC cards!

About 2 weeks ago, i was supposed to meet Christina & her sister for high tea @ The Dining Room but i was sick, couldn’t make it. Just nice Grace is keen to try the afternoon tea @ Lobby Bar so i thought why not! =)

The ambience @ Lobby Bar is pretty good & i love the sofa seats. So comfy & i chose a nice corner seat so enough privacy to chat with Grace.

IMG_2622

I arrived earlier than Grace so i decide to start off with some tea first while waiting. I opt for earl grey! It’s pretty nice but i didn’t notice it’s Lipton brand until Grace told me. Haha!

I just expected something better from Sheraton Towers lah.

IMG_2623

I haven’t had this kind of 3 tier afternoon tea for a long time. Usually i go for the buffet kind so it was a nice change. Overall the food are nice but maybe both of us were pretty hungry, i wish the quantity can be a bit more!

IMG_2625

Both of us were enjoying the scones very much! With the jam & cream… It’s heavenly! Usually i’ll pick out the raisins in the scones but the scones @ Sheraton is nice & fresh & somehow i just really enjoy it!

IMG_2626

It was a really great afternoon tea session with Grace… We had such a good time catching up with each other! I just love to hang out with my friends like this =)

I even show her the Women Weekly 1 for 1 booklet and we are keen to go for another afternoon tea & lunch buffet together. Really looking forward to it!

My brother’s actual birthday was on 6th Oct but we couldn’t fix a date for the celebration as all our schedule clash.

So finally on the recent sunday, we went for dim sum together! =)

Even though we will always celebrate our bithdays with parents & grandma, we will still have another celebration on our own! Plus we get to try out something new or our favourite food.

So i did some research & compile a list to show it to my brother & Angeline. After some discussion, a choice was made!

1st venue – Hai Tien Lo @ Pan Pacific Hotel

page 1

That’s me in the lift going all the way up to Level 37! Great view from where we were sitting =)

page 2

The interior is simple & nice. Service wise… They were quite good! By the way, there was the weekend brunch but we didn’t try that cause i’m going for a facial later while both my brother & his gf are going for massage after dim sum so we didn’t want to eat too much.

page 3

page 4

The dim sum selections are not a lot (15 items only) but the quality is there. In total, we had 11 servings of dim sum (but we tried 10 items only but for the siew mai, we order twice).

Overall we like the dim sum here + we get to enjoy a nice view. We spent about 3 hours there! It was nice to enjoy dim sum & chit chat slowly =)

IMG_2576

By the way i forgot to request for cake when i made the reservation so they gave my bro this instead! Hee… So cute & nice!

Something different from the usual cakes lah! He was surprised when he saw it & thought the waitress brought out a wrong item. Haha! =)

IMG_2579

我们是他背后的女人!!! Haha…. =)  I like this picture with everyone! It’s nice.

So blissful hor!!

page 5

Anyway i thought it was a good idea after all to have the longevity buns. Look & taste good! =)  And it’s also a nice way to bless my brother with good health! Each of us got to enjoy 2 longevity buns & it already makes us very full together with the dim sum.

The orchids are so lovely & i just had to take a picture.

IMG_2596

I saw this when we were walking to the carpark! OMG… this is so gorgeous! The oriental figurines are so cute looking =)

I really like the whole design, colour & oriental theme.

2nd venue – Arirang Korean Restaurant @ Liang Seah Street

IMG_2597

After i’m done with my facial (my brother & Angeline went for body massage) + some shopping @ Inouvi cause there was a sale, we came here for korean bbq dinner =)

I always walk passed this place whenever i’m @ Ah Chew Desserts. So when my brother & his gf suggested this place, i thought it’s a good idea.

page 6

page 7

We opt for the $19.90++ buffet bbq dinner. It’s really not bad! The bbq meat items that we choose were pretty good.

The only 2 items which i really don’t like are the sour plum drink (taste weird) & also the spicy seafood & beancurd soup. Dessert was ok only but still acceptable.

Soup wise… The ginseng chicken is good! But for this item, each pax can only order 1 time =)

IMG_2615

It was really a day well spent with my brother & his gf =)  Started off the day with dim sum which all of us enjoyed, relax during my facial & ended the night with yummy korean bbq.

Looking forward to the weekend where it be another round of celebration but with family this time. We be trying this indonesian food buffet! There’s this 1 for 1 promotion with UOB cards now & the reviews on hungrygowhere.com seems good so i thought we can give it a try =)

13th Oct ’09

Few days ago, i attended Jonathan & Eva Wedding @ Changi Village Hotel with my brother.

Got to know Eva through my brother first. Just like Lisi… Both were my brother’s friends & slowly i got to know them too =)  Likewise, most of my friends know my brother too & so far he has attended 2 of my friends’ wedding with me too. Hee!

page 1

As my brother will be one of the emcee, he went down to the hotel earlier to help out + do a quick rehearsal with the other emcee Michael.

I also tag along & help out a bit along the way. I also took the chance to take more pictures before the guests arrive.

IMG_2495

I thought it was quite a good idea to have their picture printed into a poster size & turn it into a guest book for the guest to sign on =)

The very pretty picture that you see is taken @ Taiwan.

IMG_2496

It was going to be a buffet dinner & this area is where they displayed the food.

IMG_2505

Eva also engaged a live band for her wedding. And it was such a coincidence that the guy who was playing the keyboard turns out to be my brother’s secondary school friend.

page 2

As usual, whenever i got the chance i’ll try to take pictures of/with everyone. Actually i don’t know most of Eva’s friends but as we chat slowly, it turns out to be quite ok =)

By the way, it’s my brother’s first time to be an emcee. Even though he made some minor mistakes but overall it’s already good for a first attempt!

page 3

Here is Eva in her evening gown toasting to everyone with her hubby, both families & also with all the jie mei/xiong di.

IMG_2517a

I thought this part was pretty nice… Jonathan sings quite well & i even saw Jonathan’s mum cried when he was singing & saying the thank you speech.

page 4

This is Rena whom i got to know @ the wedding. We were sitted @ the same table but didn’t talk much at first. But slowly as we chat, we realised that we got quite a bit in common & start to talk about travelling, shopping!

We were like 2 old friends catching up with each other! Haha.

page 5

Eva changed into her Kua towards the end of the dinner to take pictures with everyone. I always like to see brides in kua as i find it very nice & seems to make a chinese wedding even more complete.

You should have seen her gold pendant! It’s a pretty big one of a mother pig with piglets on it =)  As both the couple are from HK, i think it’s their tradition to give the bride this kind of pendant. I always see it @ the jewellery shops whenever i’m @ HK.

page 6

The wedding favor is a  Kissing Couple Bottle Opener cum Magnet from this website. When Eva was asking me where to get wedding favors, i just try to google & happened to find this website so i show it to her.

The price is very reasonable… The above wedding favor cost $1 each according to the website. And i find the design to be nice =)

At the reception table, they also placed a box filled with postcards & bookmarks with their wedding pictures on it which is for all the guests to take. It’s 2 sided with different pictures… Really nice! =)

Overall it was a pretty nice cosy wedding for about 90 guests. As most of the planning has to be done by Eva cause Jonathan is at HK most of the time, i guess it wasn’t easy for her. But with the help from all her friends, everything turns out to be quite ok =)

Anyway i hereby wish them lots of happiness & a blissful marriage.

Yesterday went for lunch with my grandma & 4th aunt and she brought us to Lorong Ah Soo for Wantan Mee =)

I hardly come to this area for makan so i was glad to explore around the hawker centre.

IMG_2533

This is the stall for the wantan mee. Just look out for the unit number #02-41.

IMG_2534

We order 1 plate of chicken feet to share & it’s good! The sauce is nice =)  I even added some into my noodles.

By the way, my 4th aunt told me this is a popular item & sometimes it’s sold out quite fast.

IMG_2535

This is the wantan mee! If you like your char siew to be the lean kind without any fats, you will like the ones here. As for the noodles, it’s pretty Q! Not bad… =)

IMG_2536

This is the wantan soup that comes with the noodles & i like it! Both the wantan & soup are nice.

IMG_2537

We also got a bowl of dumpling soup to share. This is quite ok too!

After we finished our lunch, my 4th aunt brought me to walk around & see what other yummy food we can try next time.

There was this kuay chap stall that interest me! Everything looks so good & morever it’s a grandma who seems to be the main cook! If she has many years of experience of cooking kuay chap, it must be pretty good!

And i’m also glad to find this Bak Kut Teh stall that used to be at Seletar Market!!! Finally i can get to enjoy it again. Yeah!!!!

For those who like Nasi Lemak, there’s a very popular stall. It’s called “Yi Liu Xiang” & just look out for the long queue. But yesterday it was closed. My 4th aunt said most probably they finished selling everything already & it was 12pm!

Another popular food @ this hawker centre is the Lorong Ah Soo Lor Mee but i didn’t notice the stall when i was walking around.

Seems like it’s a place with lots of yummy food… Worth exploring! I be back with my family =)

IMG_2538

Before i went home, i got myself 2 cheese pancakes as afternoon snacks. They prepare on the spot & it was nice & hot!! =)
